I think it was the opening credits of MTV’s show called DIARY that used to have an off-camera voice say “You think you know but you have no idea”. Then for the next half hour the show would follow a celebrity some crazy hectic event in their life.
Often we can find ourselves in a bit of a star bubble. People think they know us but deep down we may feel that they have no idea what is really going on. Then sometimes we feel that we have a friend that has heard our story so much that we can even be afraid to tell them one more time how we’re struggling or worried.
What’s wonderful for us Christians is realizing that God hates to see us worry so much that he tells us to repeatedly tell him what’s wrong. He’ll even reward us with peace afterwards. Seriously, check this out:
Don‘t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray.
Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers,
letting God know your concerns.
Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness,
everything coming together for good,
will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when
Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. – Phillipians 4:6-7
If this sounds like an excellent idea but you’re intimated by
praying “right” then start by just writing God a letter.
